Requirements You Must First Meet
- You have to be an Admin of a group to be able to delete it.
- Even when you're the Admin, you can't still delete a group you did not create except the original creator leaves the group.
- All members of the group have to be removed.
- When you're the only one left in the group, then and only then can you delete it.
How To Delete A Facebook Group
A. Mobile
- Open your Facebook app.
- Click the menu bar on the bottom right corner (iOS) or top right corner (Android).
- Scroll through the options to find and select Groups.
- Tap the name of your group which you wish to delete.
- Tap info. It's located to the right of the page options below your group's cover photo.
- Select Members from the options.
- Tap a member's name.
- Tap Remove Member from the options.
Repeat this step until you've removed all the group members but yourself.
- Tap your own name once you're done removing the other members
- Select Leave Group from the options
You'll get a message in a pop up window asking if you want to give up your admin privileges and leave "(group name)". This pop up window will carry the following options on the bottom; "Cancel" and "Leave Group".
- Tap Leave Group.

B. Desktop
- Visit the Facebook website to log in to your account.
- Click Groups on the left hand side.
- Click the name of the group you wish to delete.
- Click Members.
- Click the gear icon to the right of each member's name, select Remove from Group.
- Click Confirm when prompted.
Repeat this step until you've removed all the group members but yourself.
Now that everyone else has been removed from the group;
- Click the gear icon to the right of your name.
- Select Leave Group from the pop up menu.
- Click Leave and Delete on the bottom right corner of the new window that pops up.
