Facebook Messenger is a powerful Instant Messaging Application. It is a great means of keeping in contact with friends and family without delay.
However, the Messenger application does have its cons and you might have blocked people when they got a little too annoying. If you want to revert that action, here's how to unblock someone on Facebook.
Unblocking on Messenger
Unblocking someone on Messenger can be executed on mobile devices via the Messenger Application or via the Facebook website. Steps to using any of these means will be stated individually.
Unblocking via iOS
- Open the Messenger Application.
- Tap your profile icon. It's the blue person-shaped icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
- Scroll through the options and select People.
- Tap Blocked.
- Tap the name of the person you wish to unblock.
- Slide the Block Messages option to the off position.

Unblocking via Android
- Open the Messenger Application.
- Tap the profile icon. It's the gray person-shaped icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Scroll through the options and select People.
- Tap Blocked People.
- Go to the name of the person you wish to unblock and click the UNBLOCK button.
- Click UNBLOCK ON MESSENGER.
Unblocking via the Facebook Website
This method is prescribed for desktop users.
- Visit the Facebook website via https://www.facebook.com.
- Enter your Facebook log in details and sign in.
- Click the downward facing arrow on the top right corner of the screen.
- Select Settings.
- Click Blocking. This can be found on the left hand side of the screen.
- Scroll down to the "Block Messages" section. The names under this section are all people who are blocked from contacting you on Messenger.
- Click Unblock next to the person's name which you wish to unblock.
