Do you have a Facebook page that's just sitting there which you no longer use? Would you like to get rid of it for good? Read on as I walk you through on how to delete a Facebook page.


Facebook comprises different sections, one of which is the Timeline used to interact with friends and family. The other being pages, which can be used to advertise businesses and widen customer base or to promote a course...the list is endless. These pages could be extensions of personal pages. However, when you no longer want a particular Facebook page, you can delete it while leaving other pages (if there exists any) and your personal profile intact.

Implications of Deleting a Facebook Page

By deleting a Facebook page you manage, all content associated with the page is removed. Your account will however remain intact. Nothing to worry about there.

How to Delete a Facebook Page

You can delete a page from within its settings on both desktop and mobile phones.Steps on how to delete your Facebook page are given below for desktop iOS and Android devices.

Desktop
  • Access the Facebook website to sign in to your account
  • Click the downward facing arrow on the top right corner of your page. A drop-down menu with several options should pop up
  • Select Manage Pages. This takes you to a list of pages you have
  • Select the page you want to delete
  • Click Settings on the top right corner of the new window
  • Click Remove Page at the bottom of the screen
  • Click "Permanently delete (page name)"
You'll be asked if you're sure you want to delete "page name" and also will be shown the "Cancel" and "Delete" options.
The page is now gone.

iOS Devices

  • Open your Facebook application
  • Click the menu bar at the bottom right corner
  • Scroll through the options which pop up to find and click Pages
  • Click the page you want to delete. This should take you to the page
  • Click the ellipses (...) on the top right corner. A list of options will come up
  • Select Edit Settings. Again, a list of other options will come up
  • Select General. A new page with Subheadings come up. Each subheading carries its own options
  • Click "Permanently delete (page name)" under the "Remove Page" subheading
You'll be asked if you're sure you want to delete "page name" and also will be shown the "Cancel" and "Delete Page" options.
  • Click "Delete Page"
This should end the existence of the page.

Android Devices 

  • Open your Facebook application
  • Click the menu bar at the bottom right corner
  • Scroll through the options which pop up to find and click Pages
  • Click the page you want to delete. This should take you to the page

  • Select Edit Settings. Again, a list of other options will come up

  • Click "Delete Page"
The page should now be deleted.
